Project spotlight

Voices for Change: empowering young people to lead change

Through the Voices for Change project, supported by Hivos, Uchembere Wabwino Maternity Clinic strengthened youth participation in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) education and advocacy in Malawi. The project equipped young people with knowledge and advocacy skills, created spaces for community dialogue, and engaged stakeholders through community activities and radio programmes.

Our impact story

Mwayi’s story

Mwayi was 16 when she came to us for antenatal care. Her pregnancy was early and unplanned, and our ultrasound scan showed she was carrying twins. She went through the whole course of antenatal care and delivered both babies normally, without complications. Mwayi and the twins are doing fine. We regularly check on them, and she is continuing with her education. When she finishes her education, she says she wants to be a nurse so that she can also help other people.
